Dave Ringer, MD, CPE, CMD, FAAFP

Dave A. Ringer, MD, CPE, FAAFP, is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia with a Doctor of Medicine. Before attending medical school, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia. Dr. Ringer completed his residency at Anniston Family Practice at the University of Alabama, and later received an Executive Certificate in Business Management from John Hopkins University.

Dr. Ringer is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Physician Executives, and the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care, granting him the title of Certified Physical Executive and Certified Medical Director. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  Dr. Ringer owned Family Medical Associates of Lake Oconee for 22 years before joining his practice with what is now Oconee Valley Healthcare. Dr. Ringer now serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Oconee Valley Healthcare, sees patients in local nursing homes, rotates as a hospitalist at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital, and sees patients at the Lake Oconee office one day a week. He is also the Chief of Staff at St. Mary’s GSH, the Medical Director for several local nursing homes, the Chief Medical Officer of Affinis Hospice, and an Assistant Professor of Community Medicine at the Mercer School of Medicine in Macon and the Augusta University-University of Georgia Medical Partnership in Athens.

Dr. Ringer is married to Kayleen Ringer and has six children: Andrew (Alison), Josh (Bailey), Isaac (Laura), Abbie (Josh), Ruthie, and Khady, and eight grandchildren: Henry, Max, Margaret, Will, Lucy, Mary, Vera and Isla. He is active in his community as well, serving as the team doctor for Gatewood Schools and a member of Lake Oconee Lutheran Church.
