As the Chief Operating Officer of Oconee Valley Healthcare, Carri Thomas is responsible for running all facets of the clinical side of the health center: medical, dental, and pharmacy. She oversees clinical operations and employees in all four offices. Carri has worked with Oconee Valley Healthcare since 2011, and she worked at Family Medical Associates of Lake Oconee and Stepping Stones Learning Center prior to Oconee Valley. Carri’s interests in the field include leadership and management, quality care, customer service, strategic planning, employee retention, and report building.
Before she became COO, Carri worked in various positions through the company, learning and growing as she took on more responsibility. She started as a Medical Assistant, gaining years of experience with patients in the office setting. She then became the Office Manager at the Lake Oconee office, obtaining experience in staff management. Carri was then promoted to Clinical Quality Coordinator, and then again to be the Director of Clinical Services. Carri holds a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University in business administration with a major in management and a minor in entrepreneurship. She is an Associate in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Carri is originally from Eatonton, Georgia, and graduated from Gatewood Schools. Carri is married to Jacob Thomas; they have three children: Braxton, Wyatt, and Elli Blake. In her spare time after work and school, Carri enjoys reading and spending time with family. She also serves at outreach activities with Oconee Valley Healthcare in the community.
