Our big project for National Health Center Week is starting a Little Free Pantry in Greene County! The Little Free Pantry program is sort of like a swap-shop for nonperishable food and necessities. A small structure is put in an accessible, safe area for people to “give what they can and take what they need.” Our Little Free Pantry is going to be outside at our Greensboro location. We are excited to be partnering with Heroes for the Hungry, a local 4-H Youth in Action Project by Bailey Ballard. We are so glad others had the same idea as us to help with hunger and food insecurity right here in Greene County! We have a place ready for the pantry and Heroes for the Hungry had their pantry built so we are teaming up to put their box at our Greensboro location.
The ribbon cutting will be Wednesday, August 7th at 10:00am. Community members who would like to donate nonperishable items can drop them off in the pantry, and people in need can visit the pantry for food to feed their family. We want to start the Little Free Pantry project in hopes that it will help those in need in this county, and that our community can work together to help others.
Please join us for our Little Free Pantry Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, August 7th at 10:00am at TenderCare Clinic of Greensboro.
