UP-TO-DATE: COVID-19 Information

Visit our COVID-19 page for this information and more.

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. We want to take care of you as well as keep our staff healthy so they can continue to see you. We have full appointment availability at all of our locations, as well as telemedicine appointments available.

We encourage you to take advantage of our telemedicine appointments if you are able to do so. We are happy to take care of you through your computer at a safe distance! Please call our office for an appointment: 706-453-1201.

All patients who need appointments for acute symptoms or sickness will continue to be seen in Building 2 at our Greensboro location (the old preschool building) to keep our other locations safe and low-risk. If you are experiencing minor symptoms, we encourage you to stay home to minimize the spread of illness. If you would like to be seen, please call our office: 706-453-1201.

No matter what you are coming in for, we advise that you bring your own mask, scarf, bandana, or any other face covering into the office. Any sort of fabric covering that would prevent droplets from being spread from your mouth or nose is fine. Visit the CDC website to learn how to fashion your own from household items. Please make sure you cover both your nose as well as your mouth! Thank you!

Our dental department is conducting appointments for emergency reasons only. Please call if you have a problem: 706-454-5114.

Our pharmacy is fully operational inside and will also bring your prescription out to your car if you do not wish to enter the building: 706-454-5150.

When you arrive at our offices, please remain in your vehicle and call the number listed on our outside signs. We will give you a call back when it is time for you to come in for your appointment.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these unusual circumstances together!

Walk to Wellness POSTPONED

St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital and Oconee Valley Healthcare are postponing the start of the Walk to Wellness program until further notice. We are following guidelines from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention that are designed to put the safety of our patients, colleagues, residents, and community members first as the COVID-19 situation evolves. We will announce the new start date when it has been decided. Thank you for your understanding. Please note that Oconee Valley Healthcare offices are still operating as usual.

***

St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital and Oconee Valley Healthcare have teamed up for our fourth annual Walk to Wellness, a six-week walking program. Walk to Wellness helps the community come together to become healthier together, one walk at a time!

The health benefits of walking are extensive and include increased heart and lung fitness, reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, management of high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes, and reduced body fat.

This year, our program will start with a pre-assessment which will collect simple health information from participants including blood pressure, weight, and BMI. There will also be a post-assessment so you are able to see how your health has improved! Walking together will help everyone to encourage each other and stay motivated and committed to the program, and to better your health.

The pre-assessment will be on Tuesday, March 24th at Oconee Valley Healthcare from 5-6 pm. Walking will take place every Monday-Thursday from 5-6 pm starting March 25th through April 29th at Robinson Park in Greensboro (409 E. Bush St). The post assessment will be Thursday, April 30th at Oconee Valley Healthcare.

If you are interested in joining the program, please contact Laura at 706-454-5183. Join us in making ourselves and our community healthier today!

TenderCare Clinic to become Oconee Valley Healthcare

TenderCare Clinic is delighted to announce that our company name is changing effective January 1, 2020 to Oconee Valley Healthcare. The name change allows us to present ourselves to all of our patients as truly the most trusted and complete healthcare establishment in the Oconee Valley region.

As we are approaching our 20th anniversary as a health center, we want to make sure all people are more knowledgeable about what we offer. Our goal is to provide a variety of healthcare services, including medical, dental, pharmacy, wellness, and behavioral health, into the entire Oconee Valley area. The robust services and locations we provide for our communities were simply not captured by the former name.

Our renaming will not affect our quality of service that we provide to our patients, nor will it affect our leadership or staff. We are still dedicated to serving you and your health needs. We look forward to sharing our new look with you over the next few months!

Thanksgiving Food Collection

TenderCare Clinic is collecting non-perishable Thanksgiving food items for the Little Free Pantry in Greensboro. If you would like to bring food to donate, you may place it directly into the Little Free Pantry or you may leave it in one of the collection boxes in TenderCare lobbies. We recommend the following foods: stuffing or dressing mix, cornbread mix, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, regular/sweet potatoes, gravy packets, and pumpkin pie filling. Help to make someone else’s Thanksgiving full of happiness!

Think Pink, Walk Proud!

TenderCare Clinic and St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital invite you to join us for this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign! Make a goal to “Think Pink, Walk Proud!” on Friday, October 18th to bring light to the need for prevention and detection in our community. When you walk, post a picture of yourself, your group of friends, or your fitness band/app and tag us using #PowerofOneWalk. Power of One is a partnership to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention and early detection. It only takes ONE person to make a difference! Breast cancer is very prevalent in Greene County and community support is needed to encourage annual well woman exams and yearly mammograms. Please mark your calendars and plan on walking on October 18th!

As always, Power of One also provides no-cost mammograms to uninsured women in the community during October. Call 706-453-5005 and mention the Power Of One to schedule during the week of October 14-18th.

TenderCare Clinic is also supporting Team Terri this year as one of our employees, Terri Patterson, is currently battling breast cancer. We are doing several employee fundraising activities in October to help with her treatment costs.

If you have any questions, please call Laura at 706-454-5183.
